When you have a problem, you will make it easier for us to assist you when you provide your dxdiag information and the preferences.txt file from RTW. In this thread you can read how to obtain this information, and how to post it. 1 - DirectX Diagnostics (DXDiag in short) DirectX comes with its own diagnostics utility, called DXDiag.exe. Here's how to use that utility: Click START, click RUN, then type dxdiag in the box and click OK. The DXDiag panel opens. It has tabs for a number of details on your pc. Below you see DxDiag opened on the display tab. Notice the 'Save All Information' button at the bottom. Clicking this button will save all dxdiag information into a text file. Once you have saved all the information, open the file and copy all contents of it into the post in which you explain your problem. 2 - preferences.tx In some cases it's very helpful for us to know the settings with which you play the game. The settings are stored in a file called preferences.txt that you will find in the folder where you installed the game. If you installed to the default location, you should find it in C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\preferences for RTW & C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\bi\preferences for BI. Open that file and copy all the text in it, then paste it into the post in which you explain your problem.

It also helps a hell of a lot if u post what processor you run on, amount of RAM, power and speed of comp (Hz) u can obtain this information by right clicking my computer and selecting properties. Other information such as size of paging file would probably help too. Most of this stuff is on system in dxdiag. Using MSCONFIG to give us details on drivers, applications, system services and start up programmes would aid in problem solutions too. So basically guys the more you give us to work with, the quicker and more effectively we can help :wink:

Yes I know but people can't send their diagnostics report can they, would be useful if there was a way though...

There is a way.. Just follow the instructions as stated above.. you click save all info botton.. Copy the text in the file it generates.. All the info is in there.....

whats the aprox total memory for? is it like the available RAM right now?
