I proposed merging everyone's PID list a couple of years ago, but only JC replied. We ended up with a rather good list!!

The way to show multiple PIDs is to have multiple files in the playerlists folder. RTW creates one called "current" and every time a player comes online this file is checked to see if the PID is "known". If it is not already in the list a new entry is appended to the end.

So, if a player changes his name and his PID is already stored in your "current" file, you don't get the new one stored.

However, RTW will read ALL files in the playerlists folder - so what I do is periodically rename "current" to something else - no problem because RTW will recreate the "current" file.

Now obviously I end up with a lot of duplicate entries for players who have NOT changed their name so I read all the files into Excel and remove all duplicates - that is where the PID and Player Name are the same. Then I write the resulting data back as a text file.

Simple really!

We should merge our pid lists then i suggest. But what i dont get is that me and JC already merged our pid lists, in one biig file.. but the game still show us the same pid lists.

BTW thx TSG, the only prob is that u would have had to start a lot eariler for that to work... so is there anyway that we can fix it.. or can we just alltogether make a big pid list?

One big pid list is probably the best way. However as Kaka and JC have noticed, having only one file does not work - RTW only shows the first PID / Player Name combination in the file. You have to have several files - as many as you need to have all the alternative names that ppl have used.

so what we should do is insead of making 1 big.. we make many small ones, so basically we send our current.txt files to everyone and they send it to us..

I got Strangers pid and i renamed mine, and put in strangers current.txt into the playerlist folder... i typed in #pid in rtw and voila:

Max - 200 MBPS is the speed between your computer and your modem - not the speed of your modem to the Interweb. You won't get a 200MBPS Interweb connection without renting a (highly expensive) private connection. Check your modem's real speed m8 and see how good it is.

And fwiw - GaySpy has been worse than usual recently

Log on to your router/modem and it will tell you. Should also provide various stats like data rate (upstream and downstream), Noise Margins, Output Power, Attenuation etc.
